Description
Permission to use copyright material may take any written format, letter, email, or a separate formal agreement (as is the case in this Contract 57). Whichever is adopted, the permission must be clear and precise to identify the copyright material which may be used (eg a training video, sales, support, development, product assembly instructions, etc), the purpose for which it may be used (eg internal training, sales, support, development, product assembly, etc ) and any restriction in use (eg within a particular division of the user or territory).
As the name implies, this license formally permits the use of the copyright material incorporating the general terms and conditions relating to the above.
Whatever the reason, a formal license dispels any subsequent doubt and ambiguity surrounding any such use and minimises the risk of litigation.
